Bug? WP4.7.5 – Deleted Subscribers still count in the Total Subscribers
-
Hi!
History: I recently took back control of a WordPress website from a third party service provider that managed it. The website is not high traffic. It is static. Comments are disabled. There are no posts, only pages in the website. There should be only two users (admin1 and admin2) registered to login in this website. There should be no Subscribers. On getting the website back, I noticed 170 Subscribers had registered in the website when it was under the third party management. But, the website should have only 2 (two) users: admin1 and admin2 (administrators).
Issue/Bug Reproduction:
Step 1: I deleted the 170 Subscribers, leaving the two administrators (admin1 and admin2)
Step 2: Deletion will happen, the 170 Subscribers disappear from the WordPress Users list/page.
Step 3: I checked the _user table with phpMyAdmin, the 170 Subscribers were not listed there. Only the two administrators listed. That is ok. Screenshot: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/5pj5q/h60mIssue 1: But, strange enough, in the upper part of the Users Page, it lists the website has 148 Subscribers. That is, all the 170 Subscribers were deleted, but WordPress still displays I have 148 Subscribers (!), screenshot here https://www.diigo.com/item/image/5pj5q/02hc
Issue 2: I had deleted the 170 Subscribers around one or two weeks ago and frankly forgot about them. Today, when loggin into WordPress, all the 170 Subscribers I had deleted were back in the WordPress Users List (!).
I deleted them again, but their total number (148) still show in the WordPress Users Page.
Any advice to solve this issue is welcome.
