    Hi Jacques,
There seems to be a bug with usernames in Rencontre.
It is allowing case sensitive usernames, and then the users can’t log in..it seems.
    So I have three users

    Soledad
    SOLEDAD
    soledad

and Rencontre has all these three users activated. However, on trying to login, I can’t login from any of them!

Can you replicate this problem and fix this…if it is a real issue this is a major bug, and probably has caused me a lot of lost users (they activate the account but can never get in).

    Thanks
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay,

WordPress refuses to register a member if its UserName already exists case-insensitive.
Rencontre allows you to change the user name during registration. The check is case-sensitive. The problem may be that. Users can create a login not allowed by WordPress.
I will fix that this week but it doesn’t solve your problem for already existing accounts.
You can try the plugin Username Changer to change manually the usernames in default. It works fine.

    Hi,
Yes, I guess Rencontre should also follow the scheme of WordPress, and not allow usernames with the same characters (Rencontre should also have usernames which are case-insensitive), should fix for the future registrations.

For existing ones, will use this plugin, thanks.

    Hi Jacques,
Is this fixed? The plugin you mentioned Username Changer is no good; it is also case insensitive and changes names of all users with the same letters…you can’t change the name of a user Xaaa without changing xaaa

So hope you can fix this in your plugin.

    Thanks

Guess for the existing users we are stuck and there’s no way out..but at least for the future users hope this is fixed…
    Thanks

    Hi Sanjay,
This is fixed for new users but I have no solution for users already in base.

Ok Jacques, noted..it is a small issue only for 0.5% or less of the users right now, not a big deal..but good to hear that you have fixed it for future users, thanks.
