Bug with the custom validation message

Hello,

recently I updated from version 3.18.9 to version 3.18.15.

Now the error message appears if the user hasn’t filled out a required field. But shouldn’t there appear a new custom validation message?

Furthermore, the label of the field in the backend says “Error Message” but the mouseover text says “Custom validation message”. Which is true?

If I leave the field empty it behaves like expected and the users gets a default message with the number of fields he has to fill out to complete the form.

I guess something is wrong there in the backend?

Lastly, the placeholders in the backend seem not to get loaded from the language files (so you really see what will appears for the user in the frontend) but hard-coded?
