Bug with logout page

I have a strange bug where whatever page I set as the logout page in Settings > General > Pages, this page becomes inaccessible with a warning that it has too many redirects.

I initially had it set to the homepage but that prevented me getting on to the website so I’ve temporarily made a dummy page and set that as the destination, any ideas how to resolve, I have deleted the plug in and re-installed but the issue remained
