Hi, firstly, thanks for this plugin which is wonderfully simple. But… if I attempt to turn off both the animation effects, it produces error messages, as follows.

    On the settings page:
Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in C:\Development\xampp\htdocs\stanmorechoral\wp-content\plugins\simple-social-share\includes\admin-form.php on line 77

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in C:\Development\xampp\htdocs\stanmorechoral\wp-content\plugins\simple-social-share\includes\admin-form.php on line 80

    On the front end:

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in C:\Development\xampp\htdocs\stanmorechoral\wp-content\plugins\simple-social-share\simple-social-share.php on line 53

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in C:\Development\xampp\htdocs\stanmorechoral\wp-content\plugins\simple-social-share\simple-social-share.php on line 56

    Can you help?

I can’t get the shortcode to work yet either (but that might just be me…)

    Hi Alicadabra,

    Thanks for using our plugin.

You are correct. Turning off both the animation effects does trigger the above mentioned PHP notices. We have made the necessary correction in the code and updated the same on the WordPress plugin repository. Please download the plugin once again and replace the old plugin files with the new one. The notices should go off.

Now, regarding the shortcode. Please elaborate the issue in more details like are you getting any errors? Do the icons show up when you put the shortcode anywhere in the content? Kindly note that the settings in the Settings page apply to the shortcode too. So if you choose not to display the icons in the Post and Page by unticking them in ‘Show On’ fields, then the shortcode simply wont show any icons.

Please let us know if this works for your issues.

    Awaiting your response,
    Perials Team.

    Hi Perials,

Many thanks for such a quick response – and for fixing those error messages.

I’ve realised that I wasn’t using the shortcode in the way you intended. I was hoping to use it to include icons on selected Pages (having used the settings to display icons on Posts only). I now see that it’s for adding icons in other locations on the page/post, not for cherry-picking where on the site the icons appear.

    Thanks,
    Alicadabra
