[BUG: v5.4] Form attachments not being attached

    After updating to CF7 v5.4 on 2021/02/26, attachments are no longer being sent with e-mails.

    We have noticed this problem on 2021/03/01 and have been doing back-and-forth with our hosting. We eventually noticed in our SMTP plugin (Post SMTP) logs that the outgoing e-mails no longer have any data beyond the mail text contents.

    The CF7 configuration was not changed between when it worked last (2021/02/17) and when we noticed the issue (2021/03/01). The only thing that changed is the fact that we updated CF7 to v5.4

    For now we have blacklisted v5.4 from auto-updating (along with CF7 Grid Layout v4.8.2 which relies on it), and rolled back. Everything is fine on v5.3.2.

    I understand you’ve introduced some new methods of input validation on the forms in v5.4? Well… the file validation seems to have a bug. ;]

    Also, I assume this is an issue and not intended behaviour? I would be extremely put off if you decided that silently discarding input was the right way to go forward…

    Upon further investigation it has come to light that the issue is with “Smart Grid-Layout Design for Contact Form 7”.

    Closing as resolved, and my apologies.
