    Hi,

There is a new bug (certainly created with October 6 Update – Fixed security patch for role change via profile form).

I do not want user to modified their Role themself. So, I always had uncheck “User can modified field” in the Role field settings. That always works fine and still works.

In the past, the Administrator could change the Role. Now the Administrator cannot change the Role.

    Please check. Thanks.

    Hi @ldeschenes

Could you please try the pre-release version in the link and see if the issue goes away?

I did install from the file ultimatemember-master.zip but that did not installed (replaced) in the directory …/plugins/ultimate-member.
It created a new directory …/plugins/ultimatemember-master (duplicate plugin not activated).

Obviously nothing change… so the behavior remains the same.

What should I do do install in ultimate-member directory?

    Hi @ldeschenes

First, you need access to your server via FTP/SFTP to rename the existing ultimate-member directory to ultimate-member-temp

then rename the ultimate-member-master to ultimate-member and upload it to your /wp-content/plugins/

    Hi @champsupertramp

    I did what you said:
    – Desactivate plugin
    – Rename the existing ultimate-member directory to ultimate-member-temp
    – Rename the ultimate-member-master to ultimate-member (I had to unzip and zip again) and install it
    – Activate the new plugin

I am not sure that this is working fine as I now have 2 instances of the plugin (the new one activated and the other one (temp) desactivated.

Still same bug (not able to modify role)… but may be the old plugin is still in effect.

Could you send me a regular zip file that I could just do the update of the plugin as usual.

    Hi @ldeschenes

Here’s the compiled zip file that you can upload to your site:

    Hi @champsupertramp

I did successfully upload the compiled file to my site.
Still same bug (not being able to modify the role).

When I change the role field and click the update button the update seems to be accepted and the screen come back as usual… but the role is still the old one.

BTW, I did roolback to 2.1.10 and it does work fine. That demonstrate that this bug was introduce in 2.1.11.

Thanks for loooking again into this. Hope it is fix in next realease.
