• Hello Jordy, (Ou bonjour, selon le cas)

Thanks for this plugin, it’s really filling a need.
I have started setting it up in the last couple days and while it does deliver, I’ve run into a couple issues / bugs

First,a small bug in settings, Changing the image quality unchecks the Auto-generate checkbox and setting after saving and if not too careful, it’s easy not to notice.

Secondly, I noticed that while my originals are very well optimized, the versions delivered on Retina are not. This means that the Smush plugin seems to affect the originals but not the @2x.

As a work around, I tried using the quality setting inside WP retina 2x but it seems like there is no way to Re-generate the @2x. I’ve played with the settings as much as I could and the only way was to upload a new image bearing the same name. Likely, bulk deleting and bulk generate would give me the same result but it is A. very slow and B leaves 0 room for customization for individual images.

The original image to upload to WordPress was 1100 1376 at 126kb
The smushed and resized to 534×668 is 49kb
    The 534×668@2x is 512kb

So the issue is clearly either on Smushing or in the creation of the @2x. I’ve spent hours on this and I’m at a loss.

    Would greatly appreciate your help.

I can’t edit my original post so I’d like to add some details.

As a side note the quality settings only works on some image sizes.

    My original is 1448 x 968 at 338kb

    this is 1448 x 968 @a2x (So, 724 x 484) at 338kb

    and this is 540 x 540 @2x (270 x 270) at 4.90kb

Obviously the 3rd one is at 1% quality, it’s noticeably ugly while number, which should in theory also be at 1% quality is instead exactly the same file as the original.

Either I’m missing something obvious or there’s a bug here…
