Bug in v2.0.8 – contact details added at bottom of page

  • Hello, I updated the business profile plugin to v2.0.8 and found that it adds a contact card at the bottom of the page where they don’t belong.

    You can see this on the linked page.

    When I downgraded to 2.0.7 the problem is gone
    When I update again to 2.0.8 the problem is back

    Can you help with this please?

    I think what might be going on there is that you have the contact card inserted twice on that page. If you go to the “Basic” area on the Settings page, there is an option called “Contact Page.” Do you have this page selected there? If so, then have you also put the [contact-card] shortcode on the same page? If so, that will show it twice. There was a previous issue preventing the “Contact Page” option from inserting the contact info onto the page, which was corrected in this update, so there is no longer any need to use both the option and the shortcode. Just one or the other will suffice.

    Ah yes, that fixes it.

    I prefer the shortcode way because it allows me to put the card anywhere on the page.

    I thought that setting would also trigger some extra stuff, just like the reservation plugin where a similar setting adds a reservation link to the contact profile + adds the reservation form.

    Could you add an option to turn the auto insertion off on the Contact Page? I prefer to build my own contact page designs, but I also like to assign the Contact Page so it shows on the address card

    The contact page never shows on the contact card, so you can simply keep the contact page selection empty. That way you can build your own contact page.

    If I don’t enter an email address and set the contact page – I get a Contact link in the contact card (which I quite like)?

    Ah I didn’t know about that.

    I think it;s best you open en a new ticket for that because that’s a different issue then in this ticket and this one is already marked as resolved.
