Bug in page visits counter?

    I observe strangs things since a few days. The page visit counter of single articles are jumping to tremendous hight.

    Examples:

    Yesterday (May 20 2019): Total visitors of my blog 20,000
    single page visits are between 1200 and 2200
    one page for Mai 19 2019 has a page counter of 27,000 visits

    Today: Total visitors up to now 10,500, summarized page visits are 35,500
    single page visits are between 300 and 1200
    one page has now 25,000 visits

    That’s a huge misfit between the values I see for the single page count and the amount of visitors.

    Is it possible, that the latest plugin update has broken something and the counter for a page is wrong?
