• Hello.
I just installed and played around a bit with wp (latest release).

+ I think I found a bug with the escaping of single quotation chars inside the description of links, in the links section: every single quote char gets translated into \’ when visualized in the web page

+ I tried to use the ‘pages’ section, pasting in the editor a block of xhtml I had from previous site, nicely validated and contained within a DIV. In the preview section it showed up fine, but when displayed as published page there is some junk inserted halfway through the page that completely breaks layout and eats half content.
Taking a closer look I found out that, every time I save the page in the html editor, the html content I write is heavily modifed, with the addition of P tags and assorted junk.
Is there an option (plugin?) to let me add some html to ‘pages’ without wp having it cleansed for me?

    Thanks
    Gaetano

  • The first problem is likely fixable with the WordPress 2.0.3 tuneup plugin. I’m afraid I can’t remember the link, but you will get to it from google ??

The second problem is probably due to the rich text editor. If you go into your profile, you can switch it off and then you should be able to add whatever HTML you like without it being garbled.

    Thanks for tips.

1 :: nice suggestion. I am bit baffled about why a bug gets fixed in plugins rather than in trunk, but I will try it out…

2 :: Sorry, but I already tried disabling the rich text editor, and it does not change. Maybe another plugin will do it?

1: It’s already fixed in trunk, but this way you don’t have to wait for version 2.0.4 to be released to use those fixes.
