Bug in From field in mail sent

FAQ > Mail that comes through the contact form shows “WordPress” as its sender name. How can I change this?

My email address which is meant to receive the mail from the form no longer works since the latest upgrade.

My email address matches the url of the website (mysite.co.uk, [email protected]).

I have tested on gmail and it still works fine though not the main email address as mentioned.
This has caused issues with a clients site also which im more concerned about.

Any thoughts?

@donpro you’ve set it incorrectly. Try again:

[your-name] <[your-email]>

How come no-one ever posts their actual domain name? I can’t run any tests against mysite.co.uk. Are you afraid of your website getting popular?

My CF7 form is on my website at – https://kpkreative.co.uk/contact/

As mentioned, I have my gmail account and my @kpkreative.co.uk pointing to receive the contact form submission. Gmail currently receives, though @kpkreative.co.uk doesnt.

I have tested using another contact form plugin and [email protected] receives the mail, though i would rather not move away from CF7, as this is the best form apart from this flaw in its latest update.

I have now resolved the issue on my own website now, by only having the ONE recipient to the contact form submission.

I am still having issues with my clients form though.

My FROM field in the Contact form “Mail” settings is set as follows:
[your-name] [your-email]

The email arrives with the First Name as: WordPress

So the FAQ is no longer correct.

OK. Adding the angled brackets around the from-email works.

So, [your-email] –> <[your-email]>

As you established in your other post, it’s not a CF7 problem. It was, in fact, SPF.
