  • Hi!

That is actually a setup issue. You can create the different outcomes and criteria under SportsPress > Configure

    Hi!

I know I can set it up in the configure section but with the option more T and less T I can’t manage the overtime win points assignment.

I’ll explain myself better. In volleyball when you win with a score of 3-0 the winner receive 3 points and the loser 0 point, but when the match finish with a score of 3-2 this is a particular case where winner receive 2 points (called overtime win) and the loser receive 1 point (overtime loss).

Maybe I can’t see the easiest solution, if you can explain me how to manage this case without my fix I’ll be glad to hear it because i didn’t manage to do it

    Hi!

In your case where you have just win / loss you’d need to add Overtime win / overtime loss.

The More T or Less T won’t work for the auto-assigning the match outcome indeed, or at least won’t work for overtime. You need to change it after the auto-assignment since there’s no current way of telling what is the difference between those 2 (regular win / overtime win) – the plugin can only check for one variable, and not compare it with others

    Hi!

This is what I’m trying to say. I edited some pages of the plugin and now it recognizes the overtime case. I wrote some line of code so now it check, if overtime setted in SportsPress > Configure, the difference between the points of the two teams and set automatically if it’s a overtimewin or a overtimeloss when the difference is == 1

Maybe I didn’t explain myself really well, sorry.

    Thank you for the replies,

    Hi Gedinfo!

That’s great, I’m glad you’ve managed to do this then. We’ll check that at github. Thanks!

I hope it is ok to add to this thread in order to clarify something relating to overtime win/loss.

I am new to SportsPress and am testing it to help run a hockey league with the following outcomes:
    Regulation Win 3 points
    Overtime Win 2 poinits
    Tie 1 point

Based on your explanation, your system can only do Win/Loss/Tie automatically. Does this mean I have to manually adjust outcome values when I input games?

Also, to test, I just imported 200 games from the current season. I am guessing I have to manually update the outcome point assignment for those as well? Is there a way to set the point value when I import them?

Well – this thread was helpful. I just figured out that my questions are just lack of understanding. The league table is where the points are calculated, so after I fix the calculations there, it shows up as expected based on the imported event outcome.

This is a pretty great plugin – thank you!

You’re most welcome! I’m glad it’s working for you now.

    Hi!!

I saw with the new version of SP you didn’t implement my tweak… Did you find some problem with my code??

    Hi!

I believe it was just to prevent other conflicts (as we have so many new things, with WP 4.5.x and the latest major update). But we’ll consider it for future updates ??
