Bug? Image captions in excerpts

    I have an issue where image captions from images in the posts are displaying in the excerpts.

    I’ve checked this with another post widget, and it’s not happening there, so I’m guessing it’s an issue with the plugin? Quite a common one with this sort of plugin, from what I can see on a quick search!

    I’ve got around it by creating manual excerpts, which isn’t the end of the world, but just to let you know.

    Yeah that does sound like a bug, I will investigate today / tomorrow and add a fix if needed.

    I took a look at this and could not recreate – please see this gif of my experience:

    I wonder if something else in your setup is causing this, or if it a specific configuration that triggers this.

    Would you be able to test this on a clean (dev) install?

    As I didn’t hear back from you for a while I’m going to go ahead and close this ticket.

    Feel free to re-open if you’re still experiencing this issue and after once you have more info on whether this works on a clean install.

    *If you don’t, then it will be a plugin / theme compatibility issue, which I would be keen to track down.
