Bug Fix Request – Create Variations from all attributes

    We have 5 products that we would like to offer as a wholesale pack of 9. I have tried many times to use the “Create Variations from all attributes” each time it shows it can only create 50 at a time we say “OK” then it has the little gray spinning circle… nothing ever happens.

    I have now hand entered over 315 of the possible variations, I know I have missed some along the way and still have 500 to go. Even with 315 of the options created this feature is still not working. I have also tried the feature with zero product variations created.

    Please let me know how I can use this option to create a case pack of any variation of the 5 different products with a total quantity of 9. Order is not important and repetition is allowed so ((n+r-1)!)/(r!(n-1)! gives me 715 permutations. This means I would need to run the program 10 times to generate all the possible options left.

    Hi mbelshee,

    The “Create Variation from all attributes” is actually a WooCommerce core feature, not part of our plugin.

    We do have a bulk wholesale price edit capability in that drop down but it applies after you’ve create all your variations.

    When you say it just sits there spinning it’s probably actually doing a lot in the background, especially if you have a lot of attributes that are all used for variations.

    Have you tried leaving it for a while?
    Do you know if there is any errors in your PHP logs?

    The speed of this feature will depend on your PHP environment and server environment, so it might be worth contacting your web host to see if you can increase the max_execution_time and the RAM available to PHP.

    This is probably about as much help as I can give here. I would recommend contacting WooCommerce too though if it continues to be a problem!
