Just realized similar problems have been noted already:

Yes – please do try the same fix as suggested there. Thanks!

There was no fix suggested there that worked for the original poster. The “fix” you suggested is no such thing; it will break Canvas just as it did when the original poster tried it.

The problem is not with the theme framework, which we don’t want to hack up. The problem is with the calendar plugin. It sounds like I’ll need to use a different one.

I’m experiencing the same problem with the event calendar plugin.

@frenkie: you’ve created a new thread already (thanks!) and we can follow up there.

@dan: do you know that it will break Canvas – have you tried the fix for yourself – or are you going only on patriciabainter’s feedback? If so, please note that we know this fix has worked for others and so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that she has simply and inadvertently introduced a syntax error.

We’re certainly not suggesting that you “hack up” your theme framework, just that you trying adding a piece of code (it can be housed in a child theme’s functions.php file if you prefer, or even a standalone plugin if you are comfortable with the process for making one).

What would this solution be, could you please place it here so i could try this solution? Hope to hear, thanks.

Hi Frenkie, it was this one:

Can you try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file (you can probably omit the opening <?php tag) and see if that resolves this?

    Hi Barry,

That fixes the problem excellent, thanks! Will the plugin be updated after a while so this code isn’t necessary anymore? If so would you please post it here?

    Thanks for your response

    Happy we could help ??

It should be resolved in the very next maintenance release (due shortly) … what I’d suggest just in case we forget to update this thread – and we anyway only scan this forum once per week – is attempting to remove the fix as soon as you are running 3.3.

Hopefully you will find it isn’t necessary any more at that point but of course can quickly whip it back in place if that isn’t the case.
