• Hi,
if you try to duplicate a post assigned to a subcategory, the duplication process will not porperly generate the subcategory on the destination site, instead, it will create a copy of the original category twice.

    Any ideas?

    thanks.

The plugin currently doesn’t support sub categories because its impossible for the plugin to see the sub categories relationship between sites and there are to many variables at play to control adequately. Hard to explain but its a complex problem that I’ve solved in the pages using the ‘batch duplication’.

    Thanks for your reply.

I appreciate it doesn’t support sub-categories. Would be better if, in case of duplication of a post with subcategory being selected , to trow an error and prevent the duplication.

That’ s because, if you try to duplicate a post assigned to a subcategory, the result on the destination site is that 2 copies of the source parent category get generated automatically which is totally wrong.

For the time being, do you have any guidance on how to achieve that? a code snippet or something?

    Thanks.

    Roger that mate. I’ll sort.

As I said there is no code snippet to archive this as it’s impossible to achieve without locking down various controls on the core sub category management.

    Thanks.
I got that, I meant is there any quick fix I can apply to prevent the duplication if a post with subcategory is selected?
