BUG? cannot get rid of the logo on a page

@domainsupport : your answer doesnt reply to my original post, right? Because Im def on 2021 theme. and yes, I’ve also checked on the publish vs draft possible user error, also doesn’t apply to me.

All: Really sorry, I searched for a problem/solution and never realised I was in the twenty twenty-one forum when I found someone with a similar issue ??
– I will jump to the twenty twenty forum asap (even though it does sound as if the problems @dadockta and I experience are similar across 2020/2021 (?))

Update: Tried to change to other themes (both twenty seventeen and ‘third party themes’ (Bard and Lifestyle Magazine)) and delete the logo (customize -> Site Identity) but the problem persists. Maybe a general problem and not one related to a theme?

@peter-kirring : if I remember correctly, this issue surfaced when I updated to the most recent WP (5.6.), so you might be right that this is a WP issue and not a theme issue. Unfortunately I don’t have a “log” to proof my suspicion, but I clearly remember that I did add/remove logo previously and it always worked until the most recent WP was released (and I installed it).

@dadockta I have just updated another test site to 5.6 and tried to replicate the problem. Unfortunately it works just fine there; i.e. I can add a logo (in twenty twenty and other themes) and remove it again. So the problem may be related to WP5.6 but (I guess) only in conjunction with certain other widgets/plugins.

I’m a little suspicious to the theme “Bart” – I had it installed some days ago, and some bits of a strange advertising left pull-in bar from Bart remains after deinstallation!?

WORK AROUND FOUND! @dadockta I have found a work around!
Do this: open the wordpress database (most likely using mysql or similar through your webhost).
Find the table wp_options
Find the option_name “sitelogo”
Delete the number in option_value and leave blank
Go the Customizer (inside wordpress) and delete the logo.
Publish
Test in incognito mode: logo’s gone ??

@peter-kirring : Tks Peter for the work-around. This is way above my intention and capability… I wouldn’t even know where to find that db, let alone change an entry in it.

Hopefully, WP will fix this pronto ??
