Bug: Auto Subscribe to category

  • I am not sure if this is by design or a bug.

    Case 1: If i have my email config set to a digest style email when i create a new category every subscriber is auto subscribed to the category.

    Case 2: If i have my email config set to “every post” when i create a new category no one is subscribed to that category.

    Is case 1 or 2 a bug or are they both by design?

    This is by design.

    In case 2 – per post mode, your registered subscribers can alter their subscription on a category basis – subscribing to one category and not another. The ‘auto subscribe’ settings allow you to given users the option to be automatically subscribed to new categories.

    In case 1 registered users are only given the option to get emails or not. So, new categories are automatically included, unless you, as admin, use the Subscribe2 settings and manually add new categories to the ‘excluded’ list. (In Subscribe2->Settings under the Registered Users tab).
