• Hi, I have a small community website running the latest Ultimate Member plugin. But our users experiencing a very annoying thing when they try to change password. Here’s what happened:

    1. User clicked “Forgot Password”
    2. User fill in their username
    3. User got email to click a link and then redirected to input a new password
    4. User input new password
    5. Page redirected to login page with “Success” info above the login form
    6. User try to login with their new password
    7. User can’t login at all, neither with old or new password
    8. I tried to login via WP-Admin with the new password but failed too
    9. I tried to login via WP-Admin with old password, also failed

All the efforts I made was:
    – Unchecked the “Require Strong Password” on every settings
    – Disable some plugins, including the maintenance mode plugin and W3 Total cache
    – I have to manually change my admin password via PHPMyAdmin just to get into WP-Admin

Please have a look at my website, I can provide you with a temporary login details if you reply this as soon as possible

Keep in mind that this only happened if user want to change their password…

Login and registration forms works okay and seems to had no problems

    Thank you

    Hi @uncleaji,

What version of the Ultimate member you have installed on your site?
Do you have server side caching e.g. Memcached, Varnish Cache, Cloudflare, etc.?
Make sure to exclude Ultimate member pages from the cache.
Do you have a security plugin installed?
Please try to do a quick conflict test so we can rule out any conflicts with your theme or one of your plugins. Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure how to do it.

    Regards.

Hi, I’m still looking for the issue by ridiculously disable all the plugins and revert to Twenty’s theme…

I’m still haven’t come up with a conclusion yet, I’ll post again after another try on my clone website

I have disabled plugins and changing themes… And after several trial error, I realized that the main problem is this:

    – I’m using Elementor Pro and Hello themes
    – I build the themes myself and put the login shortcode as a off-canvas sidebar
    – The login and registration works, but the only thing that not worked was the reset password
    – It seems there’s a different in the reset password form, before I remove the login shortcode on my sidebar, the form only showed one field to enter new password
    – After I remove the login shortcode, and then clicked the forgot password, the form now showing 2 fields, new password and repeat new password, password reset works okay after that

    Thank you for the support

Fajri, I am having the exact same problem. I do not exactly understand your fix. Can you explain further please? Thanks!
