Bug: 404 error if using custom tag/category permalink settings

We are using a custom theme that we developed in house with this plugin, and it really does work well, with the exception of when we are performing searches from tag or category pages, with a custom tag and category base that we used from the permalinks settings.

We set the custom base of the tag and category pages to be just “t” and “c”

so

website.com/t/chinese

From that page, you should be able to search, for example with the keyword “logan square” but if we have the custom tag or category base set, it always sends to a 404 error page. Disabling the custom category and tag base so it uses defaults allows the plugin to work just fine.

To troubleshoot, we disabled all plugins and all caching, and are able to replicate issue consistently, even with minimal plugins installed so we’ve narrowed it down to being a plugin bug most likely.

Any idea if you can get it working with the custom tag/cat base?
