buffer settings for playback?

  • Thanks for the great WP player.
    I am noticing that with the playlist player the buffer makes me wait about 1.5 to 2 seconds before I hear anything, although I can see that the audio is loading from the progress bar.

    From that playlist player, if I select the popout player, those same music tracks playback sooner. The buffer time seems to be much less, about .5 to 1 second, max.

    I there a way to change the buffer time when the player is used in a Page? (I have not tried it in a Post).

    buffer time is always the same, approx 10 seconds needs to be loaded in before playback starts.

    If it seems quicker in the popout it’s either because it’s previously been buffered and is therefore picked up straight away, or something on the site (some other js for eg.) is slowing things down a little.

    Apparently not consistently, see this thread here:

    10 secs seems a good compromise though, it’s short enough to not really notice on a good connection, and long enough as to not be totally annoying on slower connections!
