    Hello,

This plugin is preventing buddypress profile photo from being cropped, after deactivation photos are now cropping again.

    Hi @teeboy4real,

Thanks for reaching out. I checked this and I can confirm the same issue when adding a BuddyPress photo. I’ll need to check this further in order to determine more on this, I suspect BuddyPress doesn’t fully support WebP modifications at this time. From some checks it looks like there was a patch released, with details below:

While I’m checking this further, there is a workaround which you can apply for the time being. You can allow both JPEG and WebP files to be generated with the Performance Lab plugin, as opposed to only using WebP. You’ll find this configuration from “Settings > Media > GenerateJPEG files in addition to WebP“.

I’ll report back to you here when I find out more. Thank you!

    Hi @teeboy4real,

From reviewing the BuddyPress enhancement ticket regarding support for using WebP images in profile photos this should make it into milestone 11.0.0, due next month.

Until then you can use the workaround suggested above when adding profile photos.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.
