BuddyPress notifications

Hi there,
I am very happy I found this plugin. I am tiered of using third party services which aren’t really GDPR complient.
I am currently developing a small social network relying on BuddyPress. Therefore I was wondering, whether it is possible to implement push notification for BuddyPress events (like a friendship request).
It would be great if you could consider that.
