BuddyPress Links v0.6 released — but you have to pay $49

I don’t understand why developers don’t post any updates on this board. I only found out about this new update via WPMU’s blog.
I wish there was a free version of BuddyPress Links so I could try it out before buying. (I downloaded 0.5 and it appears to be incompatible with WP 3.3). If anyone has any experience with the updated plugin, please share your review here.
