First of all, thank you for this plugin, as it takes the simple standard BuddyPress (BP) messages UI to a higher level (Buddyx Theme).
However, regarding the BuddyPress integration, it doesn’t seem to work quite correctly:

    BUDDYPRESS GROUPS:
    [x] Enable Messages
    [x] Enable File Uploading
    [x] Combined View
    [x] Mobile View
    [x] Push Notifications

All users have identical WP roles. In this respect, BP group membership is an easy way to handle chats about all group members.

My problem: As soon as I, as the administrator of a (public or private) BP group, set ‘Group Messages’ to ‘Disabled’ in the group settings, I can still have ‘chats’ with all other group members as a normal group member. Only the group symbol changes into the avatars of the individual users. Restricting access via roles is not possible because all users in all groups have the same roles.

As an alternative, I could set up chat rooms and restrict access to the pages, but then the nice BP integration would be unnecessary.

As I understand it, the plugin deviates from the BP specifications at this point – or am I missing something here?

    Best regards
