This seems like it should be easy to do but it is not. I have been searching for hours for plugins both free and paid which will allow me to customized the menus on the front end admin bar. No luck.

The big issue I am having is that I want to add two menus to link to a couple of custom post types I’ve made.

Can someone at least tell me the truth. Can this be done by a novice who has limited understanding of PHP? If it can be done, how do I do it?

  • There is a plugin for this that is really easy to use. It’s called “Custom Admin Bar

    Custom Admin Bar Features:

    • Select a title or image (logo) for your main image
    • Create as many drop-down links as you like
    • Easily re-order the drop-down links
    • Link to anything: admin area, public side, even another site!
    • Pretty-permalink awareness. So you only need to provide the slug of your page or post.
