    Hi. I get the message:

BuddyPress for Learndash requires User Groups component to be enabled.

But when I try to enable it I get the error:

Fatal error: Class ‘BuddyPress_Learndash_Loader’ not found in /home/skillsarena/public_html/learning.skillsarena/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-learndash/buddypress-learndash.php on line 154

    Help..!

    Thanks.

  • After updating to the latest version of BuddyPress for Learndash I’m getting the error “BuddyPress for Learndash requires User Groups component to be enabled.” as well.

Any resolution? Was working fine prior to v. 1.2.0

@syrehn nope, not a peep from buddyboss peops. I had to roll back my system to a backup as clicking the option to enable User Groups blew up my WP/Learndash site. Majoy headache.

… anyone at buddypress fancy commenting? I’ve rolled back my site, want to update to the latest BP for LD but don’t want to having turning on “User Groups” kills my entier site(s) <— multisite network again.

    Thanks @smuglet

@syrehn Please enabled Group Component form BuddyPress settings.

Sorry @buddyboss, that’s not really an answer to my original question as enabling group component causes the error I posted originally. Maybe it will work for @syrehn but for me it crashed the site with no obvious way to roll back without reverting to a backup.

Obviously I want to be able to update to the latest versions and the fear of this happening again is blocking that.

Please advise. Either giving confidence to try again or with a solution if the issue re-occurs.

    Thanks.

    Hi @smuglet

Could you let me know following plugins are network active or on a single site?

    BuddyPress
    Learndash LMS
    BuddyPress for Learndash

    (@smuglet)

It is a multi site and yes those three are active, thanks.

    Hi @smuglet
I meant plugins are network activated or on single site?

    Thread Starter smuglet

    (@smuglet)

So some are network and some are on single site as per the instructions i received from you guys when first setting up the network:

    BuddyPress = Network
    Leandash LMS = Network
    BuddyPress for Learndash = Site

Tried again this evening, same error, same outcome. Altered the setting on the BP Plugin settings page at network level.

Do I really need to enable groups?

    Hi @smuglet
above issue appears to occur when BuddyPress and BuddyPress for Learndash are not activated on the same site.

Like when you activate BuddyPress from network site it set the first site as primary site and BuddyPress component are also available for the first site only, and when you will try to setup learndash solution on any subsite BuddyPress component will not be available for them.
It will be better use use the Learndash solution on primary site or switch BP activation on subsite.

I have also included this problem in our todo list, and we’ll consider adding the fix in a future release.

    (@smuglet)

So, I’ve been running this in multisite as above for a while and this issue has only come about with a recent updates to BP / BPforLD. But what your saying (correct me if I’m wrong) is that I need to deactive BP and BPforLD at the network level and then go through each site within the network and activate them at the site level instead.

So although this is a multisite setup I treat BP and BPforLD at the site level? Do you think that will resolve it? Are there any risks with temporaily de-activating at network level and reactivating at site?

I also have social learner in place.

    Thanks.

    @buddyboss

I don’t want to enable the “Groups” component in BuddyPress because I don’t need to use that; it’s not part of my site setup and it didn’t used to be required.

Why is the BuddyPress for LearnDash add-on forcing us to activate groups when it didn’t before?

    Plugin Author BuddyBoss

    (@buddyboss)

@syrehn, Boss for Learndash need Group component enabled. We have added admin notice to avoid any Fatal error
You are not forced to add group to all course, It’s you choice you are link group to crosue or not.

    Hi
Please find that when learndash course is set as closed and admin is added to group which have acces to that course, besides that he cannot see that course in their buddypress profile.
If I use learndash shortcode all works great. It is error confirmed with leardash support.
Please check it if you can.
    Thank you in advanced
