Buddypress emails not translating

Thanks to the Bogo Buddypress plugin I’ve managed to get my site working in multiple languages. However, the emails received from buddypress still come in English despite the language they are sent from. Since all the other buddypress functionalities work well, this seems like it could be a simple fix. Any suggestions?
