I’d like to create relationships between posts and some WP social network types – namely member profiles and community groups. Thus far I have been able to associate forums with Pods (the forums are associated to each community group via BuddyBoss)

I am using BuddyBoss, which is a fork of BuddyPress, and it provides the ability to have user profile pages and community groups, I’d like to be able to create relationships between them and my Pod post types. Bi-directional relationships would be ideal.

What level of compatibility is there between Pods and Buddypress/BuddyBoss, and what is planned?

    Thanks!

    Hi @mungbean

Pods is compatible with all custom post types and taxonomies. If one of these already exists you can extend it with Pods. Pods can also extend Users.
By extending you can add Pods fields to these content types and assign templates.
Other than that you can do with these fields whatever you want!

So yes, you can add relationship fields to all objects from these plugins as long as these objects are custom post types or taxonomies registered with WordPress.

So it appears either BuddyPress or BuddyBoss do not treat Groups as posts. Since each group does have it’s own URL, what Pod field type would you recommend to use since the relationship type is not feasible here? Website?

Does Pods have a means to show an autocomplete field that filters all available internal links, so as to drill down to the Group URL of interest, rather than copy/pasting the link?

@mungbean did you ever figure anything out regarding groups? This is what I’m most perplexed by as well – the rest of the custom types appear to be there.
