BuddyPress and BBPress

  • Hello,

    could you integrate support for bbpress and buddypress and “negative points”, maybe more.

    1. BuddyPress positive/negative points
    – sending messags (+)
    – making friednships (+) and removing friendships (-)
    – creating groups (+) and removing groups (-)
    – updating status (+)
    – making a profile picture (+) and delete it (-)
    – making a group picture (+) and delete it (-)
    – leaving a group (-)
    – accepting a friendship (+)
    – accepting an invitation (+)

    2. BBPress
    – Creating (+) and deleting (-) topics
    – Creating (+) and deleting (-) posts
    – Commenting (+) and deleting comments (-)
    – Reporting Spam (+) and being Spam reported (-)

    Other
    – Uploading differet files (+) and deleting (-)
    – be rated up (+) and down (-)
    – rating (+)

    Thank you for the detailed request! I have received several other requests for integration with bbPress and BuddyPress, so I will be making that possible soon.

    I do have one question. In the “Other” category, what do you mean by the ratings? I don’t think that there are ratings in WordPress by default. Is this feature from a theme or plugin you are using?

    Well… I knew you would ask this.
    You right. It is not a WordPress default.
    I prefer using wp review. It’s absolutely free, updated and easy to style and integrate

    A pro version has some features more but is not really needed

    I do not have an exact time for this feature. It might not be part of the 2.0 update. I will let you know when I have a set time for this feature.

    I’m working on integration with BuddyPress now. I might do it in parts so that you can take advantage of each feature as soon as it is finished.

    Any estimated time that this might be done? I just installed wordpoints on my site and so far I think it will be able to do what I am looking for it to do. I will be using bbpress for forums and creating topics would be a great way to earn points as well.

    @jonny5ive7 You can already award points for bbPress topics using the Post points hook. Just select the Topic post type in the dropdown. (You’ll have to have bbPress installed, of course!)

    Wow! I was not expecting an answer that quickly especially from the plugin author. Thank you very much sir! I can tell you are dedicated to this and I applaud you for it. I do appreciate the hard work you have put into this and I hope this is the plugin I was looking for. I am sure I will have more questions in the future and suggestions if I might add. Thanks again!

    I’m working on laying the foundation for BuddyPress integration. I’m improving the code framework of WordPoints in preparation for the future introduction of other features, like badges. I’ve decided to improve the framework first, before working on the BuddyPress-related features, because these improvements will make it easier to develop the BuddyPress features. It also means that when badges are introduced, the BuddyPress-related code will be ready to support them with very little work. So, it may mean it will take a little longer before the BuddyPress integration is done, but once it is done other features will be added much more quickly than they otherwise would be.

    I’m still working on improving the WordPoints code in preparation for this. I hope to finish that this week, and then I can begin work on the BuddyPress integration.

    I apologize that this has taken longer than expected. I’m still working on the improvements on the points hooks code of WordPoints. I plan to make those changes a part of WordPoints 2.1. Those changes still aren’t done, but I’ll be able to begin working on the BuddyPress integration before they are complete. I hope to have the first beta version of the BuddyPress module available in a few weeks. I’ll continue to post updates here.

    Thank you all for your patience as I continue to work on this. I was planning to begin work on the BuddyPress module last week, but unfortunately I had to take most of the week off. So I am now planning to begin working on it later this week. Maybe I will have a beta version ready next week. I will post a link here as soon as the first beta version is ready.
