buddy press

  • I was trying to install buddypress on my wordpress account. All was going well until I tried to install a theme. Then I got this error message: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring() (previously declared in /home/content/m/a/r/mariob63/html/thegrandmotherdreams/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/ajax.php:91) in /home/content/m/a/r/mariob63/html/thegrandmotherdreams/wp-content/themes/custom-community/_inc/ajax.php on line 81. Any attempt to get rid of this theme through wp results in seeing this message. How do I go about removing it from FTP on godaddy where it is registered? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Did you do a manual install or did you use the auto installer provided by GoDaddy?

    I used the auto installer for wordpress with godaddy for the wordpress installation. from there I went into wordpress to install the buddypress.

    @deesavoy, just rename the theme folder via FTP from wp-content/themes/custom-community to e.g. wp-content/themes/custom-comm

    Btw, BuddyPress doesn’t work well on WP installed with webhost script like fantastico/scriptalicious/etc. I recommend that you start from scrath now, i.e., instll WP manually via s/FTP or cpanel etc.e
