BSOD Trouble
-
Recently, my admin screens started going blank. At first this happened when ever I saved a page (I was retagging my entire post history to fit my custom taxonomies) and it would go blank. It wasn’t a problem because it seemed it would save regardless. Next, when I tried to search things at different part of wp-admin it would just come up a blank page. Now I cannot even log in to my dashboard.
I have seen this is a common problem. The White/Blank Screen of Death? However I believe I have tried everything that is commonly suggested. I renamed my plugins folder to plugins_temp and created a empty plugins folder to see if it was a plugin causing the problem. Since I cannot enter my dashboard anyways, I figured that even if I could try one by one, it wouldn’t make a difference as the problem continued even when they were all disabled. I went further and deleted all the plugins I had recently installed after upgrading to 2.9.2. Still nothing.
I saw one suggestion that said deleting WP Super Cache, whether or not this was a good idea I’m not sure. But in my desperation I tried that too.
Before this got out of hand I was messing around in sidebar and functions in themes but I don’t see how that could make this situation happen.
Clearly, I’m not that smart on the inner workings of my blog so I may have missed an obvious step or did something wrong. Hopefully someone here can give me an idea.
