    Hello,
I was recently BruteForce attacked and I am still working with my hosting company on protecting our server and sites from continued attacks. The host mentioned that one of my sites was the focus of the attack and I have BruteProtect (Free version) installed on that particular site via the iThemes security plugin. Unfortunately, my host mentioned that even with this plugin, they were still seeing a large number of attempts on our site. It seems like this plugin did not meet expectations and was wondering if it could be because I am using the free version and not the Pro. Would we receive better protection in the future if I purchase the pro version? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You!

    Hello,
I just wanted to clarify, you said “I have BruteProtect (Free version) installed on that particular site via the iThemes security plugin.” We are not affiliated with iThemes, so I wanted to see if you’re using BruteProtect or iThemes’ brute force solution. If you are, you’ll want to contact their support.

We were also recently acquired by Automattic (the makers of WordPress.com and Jetpack) and have made BruteProtect free for all users, so there is no paid version.

Was there a successful attack or just a high count of attempts? You will see attempts, whether successful or not.

Hope this helps, let me know!
