    I see the 1.4.0 – 2023-05-05 changelog now mentions:

    Add brute force protection.

Are there any settings/configuration or enable/disable for that feature? I don’t see any mention of it within the actual Jetpack Protect plugin interface.

That was the one feature in Jetpack (free) that I was hoping would finally come to Jetpack Protect (so that I don’t need to rely on Jetpack free plugin anymore). But just curious about the implementation of it in this Protect plugin, and whether it can be enabled/disabled somehow, or see any of the brute force stats/attempts (like you can in the core Jetpack free plugin), or enable certain IPs to be on a whitelist.

    Hi there @garconis,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

You can enable/disable brute force protection from the standalone Jetpack Protect plugin by going to Jetpack -> Protect -> Firewall tab.

But just curious about the implementation of it in this Protect plugin, and whether it can be enabled/disabled somehow, or see any of the brute force stats/attempts (like you can in the core Jetpack free plugin), or enable certain IPs to be on a whitelist.

As a standalone plugin, some adjustments are to be expected in terms of the number of features available compared to the complete Jetpack plugin.

However, you can still allow specific IP addresses on Jetpack Protect. To do that, you have to enable manual rules in Jetpack -> Protect -> Firewall tab and, click Edit manual rules and add a list of your IP addresses to allow before saving your changes.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jon,

Can you confirm whether you’re using the latest version of the Jetpack Protect plugin (version 1.4.0)? Here is a screenshot of what I see on my own site, which is running version 1.4.0:

If you are definitely running version 1.4.0 and you still aren’t seeing the Firewall tab, can you provide us with your website URL so we can have a closer look?

If you want that information to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.

    Thanks!

We are on v1.4.0. We are also hosting with Pressable and using Jetpack Complete plan.

Thanks, Jon! I’m able to reproduce the missing tab on my own Pressable site, too. I’ve checked in with our team about this and will follow up here once we have more insight.

Hi @garconis thanks for your patience on this! This is indeed a known issue on Pressable sites and our developers are working on a fix that will be included in the next release of the Protect plugin. Once the next version is released, that Firewall tab should be visible to you ??

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.
