Browsers doesn’t load index.htm on a domain that used to have WordPress.

    Okay so I built a quick little site. Just some basic HTML/CSS nothing too complex but the code is not the problem. The problem is when I upload the files to the domain and go to type in the site it doesn’t load anything, where as it should notice there is a index.htm and load that. This same problem happened with a friend of mine who also wanted to do a similar thing with a domain that used to have WordPress on it. The same files work perfectly on domains that have never had a WordPress on them.

    Anyone had any idea what might be the issue? Any help will be much appreciated.

    Check that all WordPress files have been removed – including any .htaccess file left over in the WP inatall folder.

    Did check that Emsi, I tried to delete all the contents of .htaccess in the folder one level higher than the site I was trying to do this with.

    Thanks for your quick reply though. Any ideas what else I should check?

    There is nothing else. If all files & folders have been removed, it’s not a post-WordPress issue.
