Browser Uploads of Media Go to Wrong Destination

  • When I use the browser uploader for media files, with “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” option checked under Media Settings, the files arbitrarily go to the folder “2011/03” in wp-content/uploads rather than to the current year and the current month.

    I can’t see why/where this is determined.

    aha! that is a page originally created in March, 2011

    I update the page quarterly with the latest newsletter – so, when I add the new newsletter it’s filed with the folder for the page as originally published?

    The attachment files are added to the March 2011 folder, yes. ??

    OK – so if I exit the page and just add the media to the media library first, will it be filed with the current month and year?

    Yes – that should work.
