• I want my logo to to be displayed on both page tab and the url address bar. Does anyone out there know how to set this up?

Not sure what it is called but if you are on sites like Yahoo or Google, look up on the page next to the url and you will see their logos. Nice professional look that I would like to add to my site.

Thanks for your reply esmi.I reviewed the link and followed the instructions but I can’t seem to get the logo to appear. My problem is that I am not entirely sure which file in the MAIN FOLDER do I upload the favicon to?

If you know of step by step instructions that would be great.

Below is what I have followed but with no success:

If there is already an old favicon.ico file in your current theme’s main folder, delete it using FTP Clients.

With an FTP Client, upload the new favicon.ico file into your current theme’s main folder.
Upload another copy of your favicon.ico file to the main directory of your site (ie. https://example.com/favicon.ico). This will display the favicon in your subscribers’ feedreaders.

bwbettes,

The main theme folder:
wp-content > themes > default (or current theme in use)

Let me know if that clears it up. We typically drop one version in the root directory, i.e. the same location as the following folders: wp-content, wp-includes, wp-admin. Drop it in this location and as long as you have the header code installed as below, you should be fine.

<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”https://www.yoursitename.com/favicon.ico” />
