browser differences with pdfs

TGN-embed-everything originally worked fine, including my default browser, Firefox, for pdfs and other files.

Now, on my computer, pdfs behave weirdly, though eg websites embed fine:
– Chrome, pdf is fine
– IE9, frame opens, but pdf shown as broken link
– Firefox, blank space is present where frame should be.

BUT I have seen someone else open their Firefox, and it loads fine.

I read around, and found that some add-ons cause problems, but disabling all add-ons and clearing my cache didn’t help.

Any ideas?
