Hi, my name is Darío Huerta.

I’m trying to configure all parameters related with nginx.conf, with my server provider’s support, and we have managed to implement code in order to make GZIP Compression work, but there is no way to set Browser Caching – Recommended expiry time to 1 years, because it’s always Disabled.

I’d thank if you can lend me a hand.
    Regards.

    Hi @dariohuertacontact

I hope you are doing good today.

Could you ask your hosting support to restart Nginx after rules are added to nginx.conf file and later on navigate to Hummingbird Pro > Caching > Browser Caching
and click on the “Re-check status” button and see does that helps?

Also please confirm with your support does ngx_http_headers_module module is enabled for that site.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

    Hi again.

It seems it doesn’t get fixed.
They have added several rules in order to check different expiry time, but browser caching expiry time is always disabled.

Do you know any other thing I can try for fixing that issue?

    Hi @dariohuertacontact,

Sorry to hear that didn’t help.

Browser Caching is a server related thing and Hummingbird simply tries to apply the browser caching rules on your server, however, it’s still up to server to allow those rules to be applied and to allow default server settings to be overwritten by those.

This is still something that should be checked further with your host, if they tried using different rules and none helped they might need to look further into default server settings and if such changes are allowed.

    Cheers,
    Predrag
