Recently, I noticed that some page updates using Elementor Pro (generally formatting, not absolute content) were not reflected in the browser. Purging the cache in W3 made no difference. The only way to see the changes properly in that browser is to disable W3. Again, if I change text or add/remove an image, that will always work, but if I change the color or size of text or an image, that may not. Viewing in another browser (which doesn’t have a current cache) will look fine.

Another thread mentioned disabling Remove query strings… in the browser cache. That’s already off and I still have the problems.

    Ideas? Thanks.

    Hello @joseph_winn

Thank you for your inquiry and I am happy to help!
In this case, the most likely issue is Minify. Since you haven’t shared the website URL I cannot confirm this.
The basic troubleshooting is to disable the settings in Performance>General settings one by one, save all settings, and purge the cache after each option is disabled and see which one may be causing this.
As I mentioned, the problem is most likely with Minify. Once you’ve changed the CSS, the browser is still seeing the same file and therefore it’s serving the cached file.
The way around this is to use ” Prevent caching of objects after settings change
” option in Performance>Browser Cache. This option allows you to add the random query string to files (You can select the option for individual types in the sub-boxes). Once the content of the files is changed, you should click on the “Update media query string” button at the top of the Browser Cache Page which will then generate a new query string and the browser will fetch the new file.
But first, you should determine which option may be causing this, and please share the Website URL.
    Thanks!

I tried your suggestion about Prevent caching of objects… and it seems to be working better now. I’ll update if problems re-emerge. Thank you!
