• As I still don’t fully understand how to integrate my changes to index.php with CVS automatically (hint: Vendor somethings) I use cvs and then browse the cvs repository at https://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/cafelog/ to confirm changes.
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to show any of the changes after 0.72 Gold. Any suggestions in case I’m foolish?
Secondly is there anywhere I can read the thinking of the dev-team or subscribe to a dev-list. I noticed mikelittle changed index.php rev 1.31 (archives now track option setting. Calendar on by default). Then changed it back in rev 1.32 (Archives back to hard coded monthly). I assume the dev team had a chat about it. I don’t want to revisit that decision, but would like to follow the thinking. I’m not a coder but by following I may be able to contribute docs, faq’s or help in the forum.

  • As far as I know you can contribute to CVS at sf.net only if you are listed with your sf-account as developer of the cafelog-project.
    Bye, Mike

    Paul,
If you’d like to be in more contact with the developers the best way is through these forums and the #wordpress channel on irc.freenode.net.
The web CVS interface is often at least a day behind the actual state of the code.
The sidebark archives were hardcoded back to monthly because we’re switching the default permalink mode to post-by-post and we don’t want every post showing up in the sidebar, probably confusing new users. Monthly is the option 95% of people are going to use. It’s compact, not too verbose, and very useful.
