I need somebody to view my site thru IE and Firefox. I upgraded to WordPress 2.03 this morning and didn’t notice anything wrong. Now, I do have a K2 installation, and I posted this in their forum, and I’m still waiting for a reply.

My site looks like a hot mess, in IE and Firefox, but just on my computer (I think). When I view my site using the Maxthon browser (uses IE’s engine), everything looks fine, which is why I just noticed the mess, earlier this evening, when a link opened my IE. I installed Firefox to see how it looks there, and it’s totally destroyed.

When I viewed the site on a neighbor’s computer, it looked fine. So, I’m confused. If it was an issue with IE, I would assume it would be an issue with a browser that uses IE’s engine, but it’s not. My computer is a little..sick, so I’m well aware that it could be my computer.

I just would like confirmation. Here’s the URL:

    Thanks!

  • it looks broke in ff, more normal in msie7beta 2. I cannot speak for ie6

btw, netscape 8.1 will allow you to switch between the ie and the ff rendering engine on the fly. Quite handy.

What could be the cause of the break? I’m not sure what went wrong, unless it was the 2.03 upgrade. I shoulda left it alone. Whenever I do upgrades to stuff, it always messes up everything.

I am not familiar with the theme you are using – but the validation wouldn’t hurt any theme.
When the errors are gone we might be able to figure out what went wrong…

“When the errors are gone”. What will make them go away? Is it a server issue? I’m sorry, but I’m clueless as to what’s going on.

It seems your posts are “centering” instead of aligning left. Perhaps edit your posts and look for an unclosed tag?

moshu’s right about the validation, though. It would probably help immensely.
Click on his link and check show source and revalidate. This way you can click on the line errors and see exactly where the bad code is.

I was going to suggest removing the flash-embedded post to eliminate that possibility, but it looks like you beat me to it. Looks okay now.

    Wow, that’s K2?

I dunno what you did, but it looks awesome here (FF on WinXP).

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate you all taking the time to let me know what was going on — you all responded quickly on a holiday, at that! LOL! Removing the audio plugin took care of the alignment issues.

My site still doesn’t display properly in IE/Firefox and it’s gotta be my computer. I see plenty of text, all the buttons and the rest of the graphics have gone “bye-bye”. It only displays correctly in my Maxthon browser (great browser, BTW, cuz it stood up to the crazy coding/computer problems, and displayed correctly thru all of it). IE AND Firefox let me down.

So, now I gotta figure out what’s wrong with my computer ??
    Many thanks again!

    Much love!
