• The 4.0.1 update do not work properly for me (=appear on the dash board at all). Googling this seems to be the case for a large number of people as well, Acunetix support responds but seems to be at loss, ??

  • Deactivate and then re-activate the plugin.

    I had a version installed before the name change to Acunetix and it didn’t re-appear after the upgrade until I manually deactivate and re-activated it.

    Thanks for the tip, unfortunately deactivating/reactivating the plugin did not make any difference in my case. I’ve also tried the Acunetix support suggestions at,

    which includes deactivating, removing plugin files, manually removing some plugin WP data base entries followed by a reinstall — still with the same disappointing result.

    I noted from the plugin download page the number of people reporting the WP 3.6.1 <-> 4.0.1 update as broken has grown steadily over the past week. To me it seems 4.0.1 update introduced new conflicts/bugs that depends on the overall configuration of the server where the plugin is running. It will work on some platforms, work after some easy fixes on other platforms and not work at all on some.
