Broken URL

I can’t see what’s going on inside because it’s intranet only and I don’t have access.

If your URL for reservations page is “?page_id=295”, just change it to “295”.

This is a setting in the main settings of Book a Room.

I know you can’t see it;

That’s why I went the extra mile to show you how the plugin is contstructing a ‘broken url’. Simply put, the plugin is adding the base URL Twice:

https://wiki.novilibrary.org/home/?page_id=https://wiki.novilibrary.org/home/?page_id=295&action=reserve

What you see above is exactly what the plugin throws out.

This first part here “https://wiki.novilibrary.org/home/?page_id=” is redundant.

It does this will IE 11, Chrome and Firefox.

I’ll experiment with the PERMALINK Option;

Our WordPress is a very basic install, with few plugins and themes. I have tested other themes; same error.

I did read 100% of the “support Topics”;

Just wondered if maybe you had encountered this before;

Check your Book a Room settings. Replace “URL for reservations page” with “295” if it currently is “?page_id=295”

If you are using the regular permalink, you have to use the page ID number, not the full URL.

This was in the help, but it appears that after several rewrites, I have taken it out somehow!

Before I saw your reply here, I changed the Settings/Permalink structure to

https://wiki.novilibrary.org/home/sample-post/

This immediately resolved the problem;

Plugin popped up the next page to capture additional booking information; I will go back experiment with these settings. I understand how they relate to each other.

Normal URLS use a ? to start a query string. So your link is telling WordPress your ID is a specific number. If you add the whole URL in with the ?, then it breaks any query strings used in the plugin.

If you just enter a digit for regular permalinks, the code reformats the URL to add the query string properly.

This only applies to the regular permalinks. If you use a different kind, you just use the url.
