On may 21 at 22:10 a website that I manage automatically installed an update for wordpress-multilingual.

Unfortunately, the file functions.php contains a syntax error, namely three extra commas in the file functions.php.

    That breaks the site.

As WordPress breaks completely due to the syntax error, I had to fix this manually on the server by changing the faulty file directly. So, I don’t really need support on this, it’s just a heads up – if your installation updated this plugin automatically, your site is probably broken now until you find a way to remove the three comas.

Edit: turns out I can’t upload images ??

  • Same here, but I need support, because can’t edit files directly.

The error message is: An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 72 of the file …/plugins/translatepress-multilingual/includes/mtapi/functions.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’

If you have at least FTP access you can get the site up and running again by removing the translatepress-multilingual folder in wp-content/plugins. Then you can reinstall the plugin once the author has fixed the repository.

Thanks, but I already deactivated the plugin by the recovery mode, so it’s running. I need the plugin for translation, this is why I ask support: for a new version without the error.
