Broken Twitter avatars with older imported twitter mentions

Social is working fine for me but it apparently doesn’t store the Twitter avatars of the imported twitter mentions. So when people change their avatars, they break on my blog with the earlier imported tweets since the link to the original twitteravatar file is broken as well.

It’s really noticeable on older blogposts where there are dozens of tweets that don’t show a small avatar anymore but the standard icon for when an linked image is not found.

Is it possible to make an option to store the mini-avatar in the WP database so when people change their avatars on their accounts, it won’t show up as an broken imagefile on previously imported tweets?
