  • What version of WordPress are you using? Did you upload the complete theme folder in each case?

    2.7.1

I uploaded all themes, unzipped them andd saved them to wp-content/themes in my cpac folder.

Delete all but default and classic in wp-content/themes. That should set your site back to using the default theme.

Did you activate one of these new themes? Was that when the site failed/went blank?

I might have deleted classic. I deleted the themes from my wp-content/themes. Now what?:(

Initially, i activated one of the themes and it worked except it had an error message on the homepage about a broken theme. So I deleted that file and uploaded a new theme. That was went the site went blank and I got that message in my dashboard. Thanks for your help. This is totally frustrating.

Is the default theme still in wp-content/themes? You can get hold of a copy of both Default and Classic by downloading a copy of WP 2.7.1 and just uploading the themes folder. Once your site is running the default theme, get rid of any other themes in that folder and try some others.

Before you download a new theme, remember to check that it is compatible to WP 2.7. When trying new themes online, if the preview is blank or doesn’t work properly, discard that theme without activating it.

I’m about to give up. I downloaded version 2.7.1, uploaed to my themes folder, wp-content/themes, deleted all the other themes I had in therre and it still doesn’t work. No, the default theme is gone.

I wouldn’t normally do this, but I’m desperate. Siteground is my web host, https://www.siteground.com/ screen name xxxx password xxxxxx. site login https://fashionevolution.net/wp-login isthe same. If you have time, could you take a look? The theme I wan is this one https://forum.siteground.com/showthread.php?t=9358

Don’t feel obligated, but I’m about to cancel my account and bag the whole idea.

    Thanks

Perhaps a moderator would also be kind enough to redact the login info. I tagged it with a “modlook”.

You tagged what? Be kind, I’m NEW!!!!!!!

If you look to the right, you will see the “tags”, or post topic information area. What I did, was simply place a tag named “modlook” there so that a moderator will notice this post, and just remove the login info you accidentally provided above.

At this point I don’t really care. I’m so fucking frustrated with this program. I did change my password, but doubt i’ll be keeping this accunt much longer.

Well, then maybe that’s best. But in the mean time, in fact, you have no themes at all in your theme directory. That is the real problem.

    Don’t believe me? Click here:

Empty directory. You deleted them . Re-upload the default themes via ftp, and start over.

I’m so fucking frustrated with this program.

As far as I can tell at this point, WordPress is not the issue.

…deleted all the other themes I had in therre and it still doesn’t work. No, the default theme is gone

…then WHY would you expect it to work at all?

    Best wishes.
