Broken Theme on Yahoo

  • Hi, I recently tried to upload a new theme to my Yahoo hosted blog, but when i go to the control panel the new them shows up as broken with either a ‘template missing’ or a ‘style missing’ message. I have tried uploading a few different themes (including one that i have working on another site) to make sure the themes themselves were ok. They are not double foldered and they are in the themes folder. Also, i have tried loading with both filezilla and the yahoo file manager.

  • what is the url to the blog with the broken theme, whats the name of the theme, and whats the name of the directory you have placed it in, ie wp-content/themes/xyz ..

    The url is https://www.districtcotton.com/contest Right now it just has the default theme working. it is in contest/wp-content/themes/ and then the theme name

    The 4 themes i have tried are horizon, dolichocephale, and nautilaus, and black letterhead 1.3 (which is currently functioning fine at https://www.districtcotton.com/blog

    I dont see anything different, between the 2, however I am curious about one thing.. what sort of indexing options do you have in your uppper most .htaccess file? I noticed output from several plugins, that ought to not be there, and no output where there out to be (both occurring when files are brought up in the browser)

    Also, are you using any other .htaccess files within, for instance within your respective wp-content/ directories?

    You do have one theme there, the one with the html template files.. im not familiar with that at all.

    I’ve recently been trying to look into the basic technical aspects of WordPress and so I set up a webdisk have tried to download a couple of themes, Papyrus 1.0 and falling dreams, both from https://www.wpthemesfree.com/.
    I have downloaded these to my two blogs, one at https://yeswehavenobananas.net and the other at https://masterkidderminster.net

    Both of these appear in my Presentation, Themes page as broken themes with missing style sheets. Neither are double foldered and both have seemed to have unzipped fine.

    Could anyone give me any pointers on this. Have I done something wrong?
