• Hey everyone,

I’m trying to make a Woocomerce webpage. I’m running into an issue with templates. All the ones I download from websites/in App Store all seem broken. Missing assets like images and demo content seem to be missing. Even the demo content I download with the template seem to link to defective sources.

anyone know a good source for some templates?

What exactly do you mean by “broken”?

What’s one of these themes you activated that is “broken”? Is there any error message you can share? Can you provide a full-page screenshot?

Themes, at least themes you can search and install from the WordPress dashboard (as opposed to those you need to upload) cannot and do not come with any demo content.

And most themes will often require a companion plugin to install their demo content or pre-design styles.

If you’re finding every theme is “broken”, then the problem may be with your server and not the themes.

But, first, we need details of what exactly is broken. Then we can recommend steps you may take to address the problem.

    Standing by.

When I say broken, I mean missing assets. I’m not getting error message. However, in the templates that I download from within WordPress, there are background images, and supporting files for the template that seem to be missing.

I even tried downloading themes from the web and uploading it. I uploaded the Demo content as well. It doesn’t seem to do much.

I’ll get a screen shot as soon as I can. But one of the themes I tried was ‘Kiducation’. The screen shot has nice images around the menu options, and a good looking background. Mine didn’t have either. The background was white, and the font changed.

In 99% of cases, simply installing a theme will NOT turn your website to look anything close to the theme’s preview screenshot.

This does not mean the theme is “broken”.

You need to specially build out your site and configure the theme to reproduce what you see im the screenshot or demo, or install the theme’s companion plugin to import a pre-made starter site.

I just installed a new WordPress site (now content published other than the default post and page), and there is no plugin. I then installed and activated the Kiducation theme.

The screenshot below shows the expected outcome right after installing the theme, no configuration done. The live page is here (available for 24 hours only): https://verage-ape-yowe.instawp.xyz/

To get to the beautiful screenshot, I’ll need to publish some content and configure the theme.

If you didn’t have anything close to my example, please share your live URL so I can have a look.
